Recipes Optimizing Women’s Health During Women’s History Month

Climate Diet, a nonprofit dedicated to educating society on how food choices impact health and the environment, is highlighting the power of plant-based eating on women’s health.

Women’s health research continues to highlight the dangers of excessive meat consumption, while plant-based diets offer numerous benefits:

Heart Health: A study in the Journal of the American Heart Association found that plant-based diets can reduce heart disease risk by up to 32%.

Cancer Prevention: Research links red and processed meats to higher rates of breast and colorectal cancer, while plant-based foods high in antioxidants help reduce these risks.

Hormonal Balance: Phytoestrogens in flaxseeds, soy, and whole grains can support hormone regulation and ease menopause symptoms.

Gut & Immune Support: Fiber-rich foods like lentils, berries, and leafy greens promote a healthy gut microbiome, essential for immune defense and digestion.

To make plant-based eating easier and more enjoyable, Climate Diet offers a collection of easy, delicious, and nutritious recipes:

“Choosing plant-based meals is a powerful step toward better health and a healthier planet,” says Jane DeMarines, Executive Director of Climate Diet. “With our easy-to-follow recipes, we’re making it easier than ever for women to thrive on a plant-based diet in 2025.”
